NUMBER 1, PLEASE AND THANK YOU. I don’t think I ever made the post I was grumbling to myself about making regarding this topic, but if I have to fill out that one “standard” set of questions that *every* researcher attaches to their survey that *does not take aces into account* and then they excuse it by saying, “Well but it’s standard.” NO. The last one I did actually had 15 questions in a row that had no answer I could pick and no guidance like “skip to question #X if you have not had sex in the past year.” IF YOUR SURVEY IS FOR ACES, THE POSSIBILITY THAT THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE HAD SEX IN THE PAST YEAR IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD PROBABLY OCCUR TO YOU.
You are not winning any points by saying “asexuals please come help with our research” and then presenting us with a survey that does not take our existence into account.
And don’t even get me started on the gender thing.
